Job Description
Job Title: Data Architect OLTP Data Modelling
Location: New York-NY

Needed for a large-scale platform modernization program, migrating a legacy monolithic application into a cloud-native, API-first and event-driven architecture, to be implemented in an AI-first operating model using Spec-Driven Development, where specifications govern design, build and test, and AI coding agents are used across the SDLC under human review.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Define the canonical data model, data flows and data ownership across the modernized platform and existing systems.
  • Establish data standards, lineage, quality controls and compliance alignment for sensitive healthcare data.
  • Design the data integration approach across services and partner platforms.
  • Assess data migration considerations and provide indicative approach and effort for the build phase.
  • Define the data components of the infrastructure and deployment model, including performance and scalability requirements.
  • Support architecture review board submissions and act as data authority for the programme.

Experience & Expertise

  • Minimum 12 16 years in data engineering or architecture, with 4+ years in a data architect role.
  • Strong data modelling expertise - conceptual, logical and physical - across relational and event-driven systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or comparable streaming platforms and data integration patterns.
  • Cloud data architecture on Azure or AWS; familiarity with modern data platform tooling.
  • Experience with data migration and legacy data estate rationalisation.
  • Awareness of healthcare data standards and PHI/PII handling obligations.
