Job Title: Mainframe Developer

Location: 100% Remote 
Duration: 6 Months + possible extension
Work Hours: EST

Job Summary

The State of South Carolina is looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to enhance an existing z/OS financial accounting system. The developer will work on COBOL programs, Natural/Adabas applications, JCL, batch processing, account processing, reconciliation, and financial calculations.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of Enterprise COBOL development on z/OS

  • 5+ years of NaturalOne

  • 3+ years of JCL development and production support

  • 3+ years of financial/accounting systems

  • Experience with Adabas and VSAM

  • Strong Natural and Adabas experience

  • Experience with TSO/ISPF

  • Experience with batch and online mainframe applications

  • Experience analyzing and modifying legacy COBOL systems

  • Experience with copybooks, program call chains, and job streams

  • Experience with reconciliation, accruals, balance maintenance, and month-end processing

Preferred Skills

  • CA-7

  • REXX

  • Python or Java

  • IBM MQ

  • z/OS Connect

  • REST APIs

  • Cash management / treasury systems

  • Account pooling or sweep processing
