Position Summary

This role is focused on providing exceptional desktop support, maintaining IT devices within a scientific laboratory environment, and performing systems administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, research-driven setting.

This position requires completion of specified certifications within the first two years of hire for employees who do not already possess them, with department support available.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, network troubleshooting, systems administration, and familiarity with laboratory IT devices. Experience with Microsoft Intune is required.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Team Player:Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to attain the certifications below:
    • CompTIA A+
    • MS-900
    • MD-102 Endpoint Administrator
    • Security+
    • Apple Device Support
