Senior Systems Analyst – Application Support & Operations
Location: Onsite – Montvale, NJ
Duration: 8-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $60–$72/hour (based on experience)

Overview
Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading professional services organization to identify a Senior Systems Analyst – Application Support & Operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise applications within a Microsoft Azure environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth, operational leadership, and cross-functional communication skills, serving as a key point of contact between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Application Support and Operations function, ensuring timely and accurate ticket triage, troubleshooting, and resolution
- Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore support analysts to provide consistent global support
- Act as the escalation point for complex production incidents, performing hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Partner with Microsoft, third-party vendors, and internal engineering teams on Azure performance, environment stability, and release management
- Review and analyze application logs, daily performance reports, and service metrics to ensure application uptime and SLA adherence
- Maintain strong communication and coordination across business, technical, and vendor teams
- Implement and follow best practices for incident, problem, and change management in alignment with ITIL standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation, proactive monitoring, documentation, and knowledge sharing
- Prepare and deliver KPI reporting, trend analysis, and operational insights to leadership
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Application Support, Production Operations, or Technical Service Management
- 3+ years of experience in a senior, lead, or leadership capacity supporting enterprise applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (preferred)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture, monitoring, and operational tools
- Hands-on technical experience with .NET / C#, SQL Server, and IIS/WCF/Windows-based application environments
- Proven ability to review logs, write SQL queries, and interpret system performance data
- Experience managing offshore support teams and coordinating across global operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Application Insights, and ITIL-based processes
