Data Engineer: 5 days onsite in Washington, DC.
Experience requirement: 4+ years, ideally in roles like data engineer, analytics engineer, some flexibility on BI engineer, data scientist, software engineer if they have the right data pipeline + product background
PYTHON/SQL/Google Cloud Platform
- Technical Skills:
- Really strong SQL skills, ideally in a data warehouse environment
- Python, especially for ETL workflows + API integrations
- Experience building systems and establishing practices for data quality and observability, including alerting, lineage, testing
- Some experience / familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally Google Cloud
- Interest or experience in integrating modern AI tools into day-to-day operations
- Familiarity with at least some of the following: best practices for modern data pipeline architecture, data modeling, predictive modeling and analytics, user experience for data products
- Project + product management -
- Ability to think critically about projects in the context of larger data strategy, considering business context of why we're trying to build things
- Can break down large ambiguous problems into smaller, actionable projects, making strong technical + product decisions along the way
- Can fit projects into sprint planning and team roadmaps
- Can prioritize tasks by effort and impact, often with competing business priorities
- Stakeholder management -
- Can build strong cross-team trust & relationships, both internally and externally
- Can communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and manage expectations given competing priorities
- Team building & development -
- Has experience & enthusiasm for mentoring and teaching others
- Can help development & maintain best practices for code, review, and deployment
