About the Role:
We re seeking an experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer to lead engineering, operations, and planning for our IBM z/OS environment. This role involves ensuring system performance, reliability, and scalability while supporting critical infrastructure, storage, and disaster recovery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for IBM mainframe and z/OS.
- Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and third-party tools (CA, BMC, Endevor, TopSecret, etc.).
- Perform CICS administration, system tuning, and capacity planning.
- Manage mainframe storage, tape systems, and DR planning/testing.
- Support system upgrades, patches, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with IT leadership on modernization initiatives (Linux, cloud readiness).
- Ensure security, compliance, and best practices across mainframe systems.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years as a Mainframe Systems Programmer in large-scale environments.
- Expertise in IBM z/OS, CICS, storage/tape management, and mainframe hardware.
- Strong experience with system upgrades, DR, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with IDMS, security tools, and workload management.
- Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and provide technical leadership.
