Senior Data Engineer
Job Description:
Our 100% remote agile development team is looking for a Data Engineer Senior to help us deliver top-quality IT Modernization for our Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) customers.
You work directly with our government customers and with other GDIT developers and business analysts to create advanced software tools tailored to scientific applications. You ll apply new approaches, principles, methods, techniques and tools compatible with the research environment within EPA. You ll be a creative problem-solver, understand IT solutions from a users perspective and contribute to strategies for a modern integrated IT environment.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
The Data Engineer requires in-depth knowledge of developing and managing data analysis pipelines, including database development and statistical software programming for analyzing complex data. The successful candidate will administer and manage MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases to maintain optimal performance and data integrity. They will collaborate with backend teams and application development teams to design and implement ETL/ELT processes and optimize them to support EPA data needs. They will be responsible for designing and implementing highly optimized data models to ensure efficient data processing and retrieval.

? Education: Bachelor of Science
? Experience: 6+ (9+ preferred) years of related experience
? Technical skills: ETL/ELT, Python
? Security clearance level: must be able to obtain EPA Public Trust Level 4

? Role requirements: Structured Query Language (SQL), Not only SQL (NoSQL), agile methodologies; ETL platform such as Pentaho and Informatica; Data Management & Data Modeling

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
