Cloud Patch Engineer

Location:- Jacksonville, FL (Day1 Onsite)

Introduction:

This role involves designing, testing, certifying, and maintaining operating system patching solutions, patch catalogues, and platform enhancements. The Cloud Patch Engineer will support OS patch engineering, patch tooling integration, and automation capabilities across infrastructure and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, certify, and maintain operating system patching solutions
  • Support OS patch engineering, patch tooling integration, and automation capabilities
  • Validate, test, and release patches to meet production, compliance, security, and operational requirements
  • Manage patch lifecycle activities, including patch availability, validation outcomes, release readiness, and operational handover
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and documentation related to patch governance and platform maintenance

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in platform engineering, infrastructure operations, DevOps, or patch management
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale patching activities across Linux and Windows operating system platforms
  • Strong knowledge of OS patch engineering, patch catalogues, patch validation, release readiness, and lifecycle management
  • Hands-on experience with Linux platforms such as RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Alpine, or similar distributions
  • Experience with Windows Server patching, operating system maintenance, and enterprise platform support
  • Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, or similar automation languages
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), with Azure or AWS experience beneficial
  • Knowledge of container platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, OpenShift, or similar technologies
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, security hardening, compliance controls, and audit support
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage priorities across production, compliance, and operational demands

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, and GitHub
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and auditing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ubuntu
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Experience with lifecycle management, release management, and reporting
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and vulnerability management
