Work Description

  • Administers and supports the Peoplesoft application stack, including WebLogic, SSL Cert, Application Designer, and Oracle database.
  • Participates in a team environment for the installation of upgrades, testing, and maintenance of new and existing systems and/or software applications.
  • Leads and mentors team members in Peoplesoft system administration, ensuring maximum availability and reliability of supported platforms.
  • Facilitates cross-functional understanding and communication between technical areas, including network (load balancers, firewalls), DBA team, server (Unix, Linux, MS Server, VMware), and desktop (Windows).
  • Maintains and supports multiple Peoplesoft environments.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex application/system issues.
  • Applies patches, bundles, product patches, tax updates, and MPs.
  • Applies quarterly Oracle Java, WebLogic and Tuxedo patching (maintains SQL setup for any changes in Java, WebLogic, and Tuxedo).
  • Configures and troubleshoots Integration Broker.
  • Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots app servers, process schedulers (batch server), and web servers across platforms.
  • Initiates and configures clustering, load balancing, and failover for the PeopleSoft servers.
  • Facilitates Peoplesoft environment refreshes, including file servers and recreation of App/Web/Process Scheduler domains.
  • Installs PeopleSoft Client Workstations.
  • Performs Log/Disk Space management activities for Peoplesoft servers.
  • Performs migration of projects between various environments (dev, test, production) and maintains change control.
  • Maintains Web profiles, Integration nodes, and interfaces.
  • Installs and configures additional PeopleSoft tools, such as Change Assistant (CA), Performance Monitor, Change Impact Analyzer (CIA), etc.
  • Creates and maintains relevant system documentation.
  • Adapts to new technology and methodologies, staying current with updates and industry trends.
  • Researches and applies fixes on security vulnerability issues.
  • Coordinates and communicates the impacts of client-wide initiatives on the PeopleSoft system.
  • Provides on-call support and responds to system, processes (approx. 150), and batch issues.
  • Coordinates with the scheduling team both for setting up, changing, and turning off batch jobs in production batch servers, such as Control M
  • Installs new PUM images (maintains SQL setup for any changes).
  • Develops and customizes PeopleSoft applications using PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, and related tools.
  • Builds and maintains integrations between PeopleSoft and internal/external systems using Integration Broker, web services, APIs, file transfers, and messaging.
  • Analyzes business requirements and translate them into technical designs, customizations, enhancements, reports, interfaces, and workflows.
  • Troubleshoots application issues by reviewing PeopleCode, SQL, logs, process scheduler output, integration messages, and system errors.
  • Supports upgrades, patches, PUM images, and tax updates by analyzing retrofit impacts, updating customizations, testing changes, and resolving defects.
  • Performs unit testing and supports system/integration testing to validate new development, enhancements, fixes, and configuration changes.
  • Documents technical designs, development changes, support procedures, and troubleshooting steps for ongoing maintainability.
  • Ensures compliance with security, audit, and data protection requirements, especially when working with sensitive HR, financial, PHI, or PII data.

Requirements

Experience supporting Peoplesoft 9.2, PeopleTools, PUM images, application servers, process schedulers, web servers, and environment management, including configuration and integrations.

Ability to develop, customize, and troubleshoot using PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, BI Publisher, PS Query, SQL, and Integration Broker.

Solid understanding of supporting technologies such as Oracle Database, WebLogic, Tuxedo, Java, Linux, Windows Server, SSL certificates, load balancing, clustering, and failover.

System performance analysis and resolution skills, including troubleshooting and optimizing system performance.

Leadership and direction skills, with ability to provide guidance and oversight to team members.

Desirements

Infrastructure management skills, including change management, problem management, release management, configuration management, and system lifecycle.

Adaptability to changing technologies and methodologies, including cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices.

Ability to automate administrative tasks, environment refreshes, deployments, monitoring, or reporting using tools such as PowerShell, shell scripting, SQL scripts, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
