Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Manager, Reinsurance for a FULL TIME assignment with one of our premier Financial clients in their Boston, Ma office.
This role serves as a key internal and external point of contact for all matters related to reinsurance across Life and Annuity products. The position manages a small team and partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders including product, actuarial, legal, finance, operations, sales/marketing, and senior leadership. Externally, the role interfaces with third-party reinsurers and strategic partners.
The position plays a critical role in evaluating reinsurance structures, assessing financial impacts, supporting new product initiatives, and ensuring effective ongoing reinsurance management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze the financial impact of changes in reinsurance arrangements and product features
Support the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of new reinsurance transactions for Life and Annuity products
Manage ongoing reinsurance relationships, including communication with third-party reinsurers
Partner with actuarial, finance, legal, product, operations, and sales teams on reinsurance-related initiatives
Oversee treaty administration, interpretation, and compliance
Support new product development by evaluating reinsurance feasibility and structure
Prepare and present reinsurance analyses and recommendations to senior management
Monitor reinsurance performance and emerging risks
Lead and develop a small reinsurance management team
Respond to internal and external inquiries related to reinsurance matters
Support regulatory, audit, and governance requirements related to reinsurance
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or professional designation (FSA, ASA, CPA, CFA) preferred
5+ years of experience in reinsurance, actuarial, insurance finance, or a related insurance function
Strong knowledge of Life and/or Annuity products and reinsurance structures
Experience evaluating financial impacts of reinsurance arrangements
Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and external partners
Prior people management or team leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
