Network Engineer
The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable federal law enforcement to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and sof tware, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need a network engineer like you who knows how to craft the exact network that federal law enforcement needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll work with government staff to enhance a reliable network to support active criminal and other investigations. You'll collaborate with SMEs and customers to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape network requirements. You'll then share your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you'll put your hardware and sof tware talents to good use. This is your chance to share your experience with detailed network monitoring and int rus ion detection systems while broadening your network engineering work. You Have:
  • Experience with packet analysis tools such as Tcpdump or Wireshark
  • Experience working in a production environment with an end user base of 100+ external customers
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP / IP, routing, switching, and internet traffic flow
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in networking, or 7+ years of experience in networking in lieu of a degree


Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working in Linux environments such as Ubuntu
  • Experience with Python scripting
  • Experience coordinating with external providers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work directly with stakeholders and translate technical concepts into practical solutions
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
