Engineering Program Manager, Data Platform, Apple Services Engineering

Our Commerce Engineering Program Management team works to enable subscriptions, promotions and much more across Apple's Services for hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. \\n\\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Program Manager to join our Data Platform team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering and analytics solutions. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, data analysts, product managers, and stakeholders across the organization to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data products and services. You will drive adoption of the data platform and equip engineering teams with robust data insights.

As an Engineering Program Manager within the Data Platform team, you will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making. You will oversee a platform responsible for secure data ingestion, storage, management, real-time and batch processing, data transformation, and analytics, among other critical functions. You will be responsible for managing complex projects related to data ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements. You will work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and driving continuous improvement in our data engineering and analytics processes. Your ability to communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and drive results will be essential to your success. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n3+ years of experience in engineering program management, with a focus on data engineering and/or analytics.\nStrong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.\nExperience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).\nProficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana).\n

Proven track record of contributing to the successful delivery of data-related projects.\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nExperience participating in feedback loops with stakeholders.\nExperience contributing to the definition and monitoring of key product metrics.\nMaster's degree in a related field.\nExperience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).\nExperience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Superset, Power BI).\nFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.\nKnowledge of data governance principles and practices.\nExperience in automating data pipelines and infrastructure.\nFamiliarity with using OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to drive clear, measurable product outcomes.\nAbility to partner with product and engineering teams to translate user needs into actionable requirements.\nUses data and metrics to support assumptions and make informed recommendations.\nProactive and strategic problem-solving skills.\nContinuous Improvement Mindset.
