IT Integration Analyst Description/Senior Project Analyst
The work is hybrid need where someone familiar with IT integration on the M&A front needs to manage application migration or sunsetting with stakeholders.
Find and build relationships with application owners, business leaders, clinical teams, and IT staff across both organizations.
Run recurring meetings, working sessions, and steering committee updates. Real agendas, clear notes, action items that get closed.
Explain decommission plans and timelines in plain language, whether you're talking to an engineer, a department head, or an executive.
Be the go-to contact for questions and change requests on anything being retired.
Bring risks and roadblocks to leadership early, with a recommendation attached.
Build and maintain the master decommissioning schedule across all in-scope servers and applications, accounting for dependencies, cutover windows, blackout periods (clinical go-lives, fiscal close), and resource limits.
Negotiate dates with stakeholders, get sign-off in writing, and hold teams to it.
Catch slippage early and push for a recovery plan instead of accepting the delay.
Run schedule changes through proper change control, with the reasoning documented.
Escalate missed commitments through the right channels when you have to.
Maintain a complete inventory of acquired applications, servers, databases, interfaces, and dependencies, often from incomplete or conflicting sources
Assess each application: who's using it (check the usage data, not just what people say), who owns the data, what must be kept, and whether it should be retired, migrated, or retained with application owner or business unit.
Map interface dependencies before anything is touched.
Work with compliance, legal, and health information management on data retention, archival, and legal hold requirements, including HIPAA and state medical record retention rules.
Coordinate what happens before and after each retirement: access removal, interface shutdown, archival verification, power-down, license termination, CMDB updates, contract cancellation.
Work with vendors and procurement to terminate contracts, get final data extracts where needed, and document the savings.
Put together weekly status reports and executive dashboards: what's retired, what's at risk, savings to date, what's coming.
Keep RAID logs current and drive items to closure.
Make sure everything goes through change management and ITSM processes.
Required:
Healthcare IT experience. This is non-negotiable. You'll be working around clinical and revenue cycle systems (EHR, PACS, LIS, HL7/FHIR interfaces) where a mistake can affect patient care, and you need to understand what that means operationally.
Prior M&A or divestiture IT integration experience. You know what inherited environments look like: missing documentation, departed owners, contracts tied to legal entities that no longer exist.
5+ years as an IT Business Analyst, IT Project Coordinator, or IT Project Manager, with real ownership of schedules and delivery dates
A track record of holding cross-functional teams to commitments, including people who outrank you
Working knowledge of HIPAA, data retention, legal hold, and medical record archival requirements
Hands-on decommissioning, data center consolidation, or migration experience. You've taken a system from inventory to power-down, not just planned one.
Working knowledge:
Infrastructure basics (physical and virtual servers, databases, interfaces, backup/archival), enough to hold your own with technical teams and to know when an answer doesn't sound right
Healthcare interfaces and integrations (HL7 feeds, FHIR, third-party connections) and how to trace downstream dependencies before a retirement
CMDB and asset management practices, plus license and maintenance contracts. You'll be updating records, terminating agreements, and proving the savings.
Pulling usage reports, login counts, and license data to validate what's being used
Project tracking tools (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, ServiceNow) and strong Excel/SharePoint
RAID logs, change control, and formal status reporting
