Data Analyst – Risk, GRC & Data Protection

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong experience in data mining, risk reporting, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). This role is responsible for analyzing sensitive data environments, identifying risks, and supporting data protection initiatives including Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP). The ideal candidate will have experience working with modern data security platforms such as Cyera and integrating them into enterprise ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced data mining and analysis across structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and risk indicators

• Develop and maintain risk reporting dashboards and metrics to support GRC programs and executive decision-making

• Analyze Data Security Posture (DSP) data to identify exposures, misconfigurations, and compliance gaps

• Collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams to investigate and remediate data-related risks

• Identify, prioritize, and drive mitigation of data protection issues across cloud and on-prem environments

• Support and enhance DLP strategies, including policy tuning, alert analysis, and incident response

• Integrate DSPM tools (e.g., Cyera) with existing security and data platforms to improve visibility and control over sensitive data

• Assist in the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures

• Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable recommendations for risk reduction

• Automate reporting and data workflows to improve efficiency and scalability

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, risk management, or GRC-related roles

• Strong experience with data mining techniques and tools (SQL, Python, or similar)

• Experience with risk reporting, compliance frameworks, and governance processes

• Hands-on experience with DLP technologies and data protection strategies

• Familiarity with DSPM concepts and tools, including Cyera or similar platforms

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOC 2)

• Experience integrating security tools via APIs or data pipelines

• Familiarity with SIEM, data cataloging, or data classification tools

• Certifications in data analytics, cybersecurity, or risk management (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC)
