Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Senior Network Engineer.

How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:

As a Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable networks across classified and unclassified environments. This role encompasses managing both on-premises and cloud-based networking systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust security protocols. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing network configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization while adhering to strict compliance requirements. Responsibilities:
  • Manage the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN / WAN systems.
  • Assist in the planning for large-scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
  • Develop and maintain secure and highly efficient network architectures for both classified and unclassified systems.
  • Support implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of multiple systems.
  • Configure network hardware and software, including firewalls, routers, and switches, with attention to security and scalability.
  • Proactively monitor network performance and reliability, identifying bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, maintaining minimal downtime and effective contingency planning.
  • Deploy and maintain network security protocols in compliance with government regulations and DoD standards.
  • Design and manage networking solutions that integrate on-premises systems with cloud environments.
  • Ensure all systems meet regulatory requirements, performing audits and preparing documentation as needed.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to align network operations with organizational security goals.

Qualifications Required:
  • 10+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer or in a related field.
  • Extensive experience in network design and administration for classified and unclassified environments.
  • Installing, configuring, and managing network switches, routers, firewalls, and related devices.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, domain controllers, IP addressing, DNS, remote access, VLANs, and VoIP systems.
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking technologies (Azure, AWS, Nutanix, VMWare, or similar platforms)
  • Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, BGP, etc.) and security standards.
  • Familiarity with DoD compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs).
  • Experience with enterprise-level network monitoring and management tools.
  • Proficient in traditional on-premises and cloud-based networking services, solutions, and tools.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an IT-related field such as Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or AWS/Azure networking certifications are highly desirable.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a Secret DoD Security Clearance.
