We are currently seeking an Workforce Data Analyst. On-site training for approximately 2 weeks, with the possibility of transitioning to a partially remote/hybrid schedule afterward. Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Workforce Analyst II (SOII/QCEW) to perform professional statistical and analytical work involving the collection, verification, coding, tabulation, and analysis of labor market, workforce, and occupational safety and health data.

This position supports the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) and the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) programs while following established U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) procedures and guidelines.

The Workforce Analyst will communicate regularly with employers by phone, email, mail, and other methods to collect and verify required information. Please note that this role may involve exposure to detailed information concerning workplace illnesses, injuries, and fatalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII), including collecting, coding, verifying, and analyzing workplace illness and injury data.
  • Analyze data to identify the types of workplace accidents and injuries that occur and the industries in which they occur.
  • Perform address verification and refinement for survey sample units prior to survey outreach.
  • Communicate with survey respondents and employers to obtain required information and support compliance with federal reporting deadlines.
  • Collect, review, and tabulate data for the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), including:
    • Number of establishments
    • Monthly employment
    • Quarterly wages
    • Industry classifications
    • Physical and mailing addresses
    • Ownership sectors
  • Review, edit, and verify employer-reported information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information through follow-up communication via phone, email, mail, or fax.
  • Analyze and document predecessor/successor relationships to ensure organizational transfers are accurately recorded.
  • Assign appropriate occupational and industry codes using the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, tables, publications, and responses to data requests.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience involving one or more of the following:
    • Statistical data analysis
    • Data computation
    • Collection and evaluation of statistical information
    • Preparation of labor market or workforce information reports
    • Related analytical or research experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with employers and survey respondents by telephone and email.
  • Ability to work with detailed statistical information and sensitive workplace injury and illness data.

Additional Details

Candidates will initially work from our client's Frankfort, Kentucky office on Mero Street for approximately two weeks of training. Following successful training, the position may transition to a partially remote/hybrid arrangement.

Interviews may be conducted virtually or in person for candidates who are local to the Frankfort area.

This is a full-time position expected to last at least one year, with the possibility of an extension.
