Lead Shopify Developer

In this role, you will act as the bridge between technical execution and stakeholder vision. You will combine hands-on engineering expertise in Shopify, Liquid, and modern front-end technologies with strong leadership to coordinate onshore-offshore workstreams. Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Shopify development.

• Core Technical Expertise:

  • Shopify Theme Development

  • Liquid Templating Language

  • Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront, GraphQL/REST)

  • Web Standards: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)

  • 3rd-Party Integrations & Shopify App Customization

• Architecture & Delivery:

  • Deep understanding of eCommerce architecture and industry best practices.

  • Proven experience working in an onshore-offshore delivery model, coordinating across globally distributed teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams and deliver under tight timelines.

• Leadership & Process:

  • Experience conducting technical design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring junior/mid-level developers.

  • Strong familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and modern development practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients and key business stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex engineering challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Shopify Plus enterprise-level implementations.

• Knowledge of headless commerce frameworks (Hydrogen, Remix, Next.js) is a strong plus.

• Hands-on experience integrating third-party enterprise services (Payment Gateways, ERP, CRM, and Marketing platforms).

• Exposure to site performance optimization, SEO strategies, and accessibility best practices for Shopify storefronts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead Solution Design: Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, high-performance Shopify-based eCommerce solutions using Shopify, Liquid, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and native APIs.

• Technical Guidance & Quality: Provide technical direction to engineering teams, ensuring strict adherence to code quality, security, performance, and maintainability standards.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with onshore stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical specifications.

• Delivery Orchestration: Coordinate effectively with offshore delivery teams to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time execution across parallel initiatives.

• Governance & Code Reviews: Drive technical design discussions, lead peer code reviews, and validate technical solutions prior to deployment.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical bottlenecks across the entire application stack.
