Summary
Title: Oracle OCI Cloud Administrator
Duration: 12 Months Extendable
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Seeking an Oracle OCI Cloud Administrator with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments, including databases, middleware, and WebLogic Server. Proficient in Oracle APEX, ORDS, database migrations, performance tuning, and backup/recovery using RMAN. Skilled in automation using Shell scripting and Ansible, with a solid understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Adept at collaborating with DevOps and development teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions. Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to optimizing Oracle cloud environments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and manage Oracle OCI environments, including database, middleware, and infrastructure components
- Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications and ORDS services
- Configure and administer Oracle WebLogic Server and related technologies
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and conversions
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies using RMAN and other tools
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection
- Monitor and optimize database performance, implementing tuning recommendations
- Implement and automate routine tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deployment
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, providing timely support
- Document and train on best practices for Oracle OCI environment management
Required Skills & Experience
- Good hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and related technologies:
- Oracle Application Express 18 and higher(APEX)
- Oracle Rest Data Services 22 and higher (ORDS)
- Oracle WebLogic Server 14(both fusion middleware and weblogic suite)
- Oracle Database 19c and 26ai
- Container Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB)
- Experience with upgrading Oracle Database from 19c to 26ai
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix, including shell scripting
- PDB cloning
- RMAN and backup/recovery procedures
- WebLogic administration(patching/maintenance)
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24ai
- PSU Patching oracle db using Fleet Management Tool
- Experience with DBaaS in OCI
- Proficiency in Gitlab and Ansible scripting
- Oracle dataguard
Additional Requirements
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architecture
- Ability to design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with Oracle OEM Cloud Control for monitoring and management
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
- In-depth knowledge of database security best practices
- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to provide 24/7 support and troubleshoot critical issues
Desirable Skills
- Certification in Oracle technologies such as OCIP, OCP, or OCE
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
- Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration
