Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the onboarding of research projects into a secure HPC environment.
  • Partner with researchers, Principal Investigators (PIs), IT teams, and Compliance officers to gather requirements and support secure research workflows.
  • Document, assess, and optimize research data and computational workflows while ensuring compliance with security requirements.
  • Coordinate data migration, scientific software installation, and computational pipeline setup within secure environments.
  • Develop onboarding documentation, runbooks, user guides, and process documentation.
  • Track project milestones, facilitate team meetings, resolve onboarding issues, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Provide user training and ongoing technical support for secure research computing environments.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Informatics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–3+ years of experience in research computing, IT, scientific computing, or a data-intensive environment.
  • Experience supporting Linux-based systems or High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working directly with researchers, scientific users, or technical stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HPC technologies such as SLURM, workflow managers, or scientific computing platforms.
  • Knowledge of secure research environments and compliance frameworks including HIPAA, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, FISMA, IRB, or controlled research data.
  • Experience with data migration, scientific software installation, or computational research workflows.
  • Background in bioinformatics, biomedical research, healthcare IT, or academic research environments.
  • Advanced degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus.
