Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Hogan Developer with strong COBOL expertise and a solid background in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in mainframe development, Hogan applications, COBOL programming, and financial systems.
Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of McLean, VA and be available to work onsite. Relocation candidates will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using Hogan and COBOL.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Work on financial and banking applications, including transaction processing and account-related systems.
Develop, debug, test, and maintain COBOL programs and mainframe batch processes.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Work with mainframe technologies such as JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and related tools.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, system integration testing, and production support.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other technical teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Ensure application quality, data integrity, and compliance with financial industry standards.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in mainframe development.
Strong hands-on experience with Hogan applications and COBOL programming.
Solid background in banking, financial services, or other finance-related systems.
Experience with JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and mainframe batch processing.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
Ability to understand complex business requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Must be currently located within 50 miles of McLean, VA.
Must be willing to work onsite in McLean, VA.
Must be available for an in-person interview if required.
