Research & Development Engineer 1 – AI Application Engineer (Agentic AI / ML)

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on AI Application Engineer to join an R&D team working on innovative AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a software development background with practical experience in AI/ML application development, open-source AI models, and emerging technologies such as Agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

This role is suitable for an early-career engineer who has hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, experimenting with AI models, and working with modern AI frameworks and inference technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance AI-powered applications using open-source AI models and frameworks.
• Explore and implement Agentic AI and Machine Learning solutions.
• Work with AI models, including model integration, fine-tuning, and experimentation.
• Support AI inference and model deployment using modern frameworks.
• Experiment with reinforcement learning and model optimization techniques.
• Develop software scripts and application components using Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools for potential R&D applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop, test, and improve AI-based solutions.
• Document technical findings, experiments, and development outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or application development.
• Strong programming or scripting experience in Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience developing AI/ML-powered applications.
• Familiarity with open-source AI models and LLMs.
• Understanding of Agentic AI concepts and Machine Learning fundamentals.
• Familiarity with AI model inference and deployment.
• Exposure to AI frameworks and tools such as:
• PyTorch
• vLLM
• SGLang
• Other open-source AI/ML frameworks
• Familiarity with model fine-tuning and reinforcement learning concepts.

Education Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant technical field with AI/ML experience; OR
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with relevant software development and AI experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI-powered applications using open-source models.
• Exposure to LLM application development and Agentic AI workflows.
• Familiarity with model fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, and AI inference optimization.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI development frameworks.
