MacOS Developer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced macOS Developer (Contract) to join our engineering team onsite in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in macOS application development using Swift, SwiftUI, and Objective-C, along with a deep understanding of Apple's development ecosystem.

This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining macOS applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the architecture, performance, and quality of software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain macOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and Objective-C
• Implement and manage local data storage using Core Data, SQLite, or SwiftData
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new features and improvements
• Participate in architectural design discussions and code reviews
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices
• Debug and resolve performance, compatibility, and functional issues across macOS versions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and workflows
• Maintain technical documentation and support deployment activities

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 7 years of professional experience in macOS or iOS application development
• Strong hands-on experience developing macOS applications (mandatory)
• Proficient in Swift and SwiftUI
• Solid understanding of Objective-C
• Experience with SQLite, Core Data, or SwiftData for local storage
• Familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and macOS design principles
• Strong debugging and optimization skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Nice to Have

• Experience with Mac Catalyst application development
• Knowledge of AppKit, Combine, or CloudKit
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Xcode Cloud, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with App Store deployment or enterprise distribution
• Exposure to security frameworks, code signing, and sandboxing
