We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to administer, secure, and maintain enterprise database systems supporting core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. This role is responsible for database architecture, capacity planning, performance tuning, and executing migrations from on-premises environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The DBA will oversee Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN backup and recovery, and data integration across state systems.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Enterprise Administration: Manage, optimize, and support Oracle 19c and Oracle 23ai/26ai databases supporting critical agency ERP systems.

Cloud Migration & OCI Support: Architect and execute seamless migrations of on-premises Oracle databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

High Availability & Storage: Maintain Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM) on Linux, and Data Guard Physical Standby for fault tolerance and disaster recovery.

Backup & Recovery: Execute backup strategies, disaster recovery drills, and point-in-time restores using Oracle RMAN.

Performance Tuning & Security: Conduct query optimization, database patching, security hardening, OEM monitoring, and Data Pump export/import utilities.

OS & Database Maintenance: Collaborate with infrastructure teams on Linux/Unix OS administration tasks related to database hosting environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Oracle Administration: 10+ years of core Oracle DBA experience (Oracle 19c, 23ai/26ai) and hands-on RMAN backup/recovery.

OCI Infrastructure: 2+ years of experience supporting and migrating databases within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

High Availability Frameworks: 3+ years with Oracle 19c RAC, ASM on Linux, and Data Guard Physical Standby.

Utilities & Performance: 5+ years using OEM, Data Pump (expdp/impdp), performance tuning, security patching, and troubleshooting.

Linux/Unix Systems: 3+ years of experience supporting Linux or Unix system administration.

Communication & Education: 10+ years of written/verbal communication skills; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications

COV Agency Migration: 1+ years migrating Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) agency databases to OCI.

Certification: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation.

Secondary Database Stacks: 3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or newer.
