Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to coordinate, design, and implement the network infrastructure required for the centralization of utilities' OT (Operational Technology) network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with stakeholders and utility network Points of Contact (POCs) to establish initial design work and ensure a seamless transition into the implementation stage. This role requires expertise in network design, disaster recovery planning, and compliance with physical and cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
Coordinate with stakeholders and utility network POCs to design and implement the network infrastructure for OT centralization.
Ensure the initial design work is comprehensive and ready for the implementation stage.
Backup, Failover, and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and determine models for backup, failover, and disaster recovery to ensure network resiliency and reliability.
Implement strategies to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Physical and Cybersecurity Requirements:
Define and implement physical and cybersecurity requirements for the network infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security.
Carrier Presence and Telecom Path Diversity:
Develop plans for carrier presence and telecom path diversity to ensure robust and redundant network connectivity.
Collaborate with telecom providers to establish diverse and reliable communication paths.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders and utility network POCs to gather requirements, validate designs, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the design and implementation process.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing large-scale network infrastructures.
- Proven expertise in disaster recovery planning, failover models, and telecom path diversity.
- Strong background in physical and cybersecurity for network systems.
Skills:
- Proficiency in network design and implementation tools and technologies.
- Strong understanding of backup, failover, and disaster recovery models.
- Knowledge of physical and cybersecurity standards and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Work Environment:
- This position may require occasional travel to utility sites or stakeholder locations.
