Job Description

You will be the Defensive Systems Engineer - Level 4 for the AMMM Communication, Navigation and Sensors team which is responsible for the design, development, testing and production of avionic systems across all AMMM aircraft platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Defensive Systems Engineer - Level 4 you will be responsible for leading technical efforts that span defensive and sensor systems, while driving integration and sustainment across the Marietta site.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define and translate customer requirements into system-level and equipment-level specifications, including occasional travel to customer sites once per month.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee test campaigns at both equipment and aircraft levels, delivering reliable results on schedule.
  • Develop proposals, task descriptions, effort estimates, and supporting documentation for new and sustainment projects.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership, suppliers, and customers to align technical solutions with program cost and schedule goals.
  • Assess task priority and complexity, creating work-around plans that keep programs on track, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent STEM degree
Systems Design experience
System Integration and Test Experience

Desired skills

Knowledge of C-130J implementation of AAQ-24 LAIRCM
Knowledge of C-130J implementation for ALR-56m RWR, ALE-47 CMDS & AAR-47 MWS.
Knowledge of and RWR, CMDS, MWS and DIRCM type systems preferable on C-130J.
Knowledge of EO/IR
Knowledge of RF Blanking
Proficient with MS Word, Excel & Power Point
Proficient with MS Visio
Knowledge in the creation of Schematics such as Level 2 wiring schematics.
ADMS, Service Flow, SAP, CAD Data net, DOORs
Knowledgeable with LM processes.
Work in a team, lead others, communicate with subs, peers, management, customer, vendor, etc.
o Team from small group such as Def Team through larger groups such as PM, PE, Airframe, Wiring, T&E etc.
Understanding of the proposal process though customer delivery: System development, planning, customer interface, presentations, PDR/CDR, documentation, On AC testing (Functional Tests, etc)
AC troubleshooting
AC installation
AC testing
Flight Line procedures
Safety in production facility and flight line
Writing Specs, Requirements, Test procedures and reports. Systems analysis of installation and system capability to meet requirements.
Test & Evaluation of SW such as interface with MC.
Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B
Ability to work in Lab and on AC
Willing to travel regularly

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
