Role Overview
This position is responsible for managing the design of assigned transmission generation tie lines for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage, as well as for stand-alone transmission line projects. The role involves overseeing engineering projects from the conceptual phase through construction and commissioning. The engineer will work within the Engineering & Construction group, managing engineering consultants to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design of transmission line projects from conception through execution, ensuring deliverables meet project specifications, safety standards, and performance goals.
- Secure and manage engineering consulting resources by developing scopes of work, securing bids, and awarding work through the supply chain group.

- Define project requirements and scope in coordination with project managers and development groups.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to secure routes, permits, and necessary engineering data, including geotechnical and lidar surveys.
- Oversee the creation of engineering deliverables such as Issued for Bid, Issued for Procurement, Issued for Construction, and As-built drawings.
- Represent the company's interests on assigned projects, providing progress updates and risk mitigation strategies to management.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and support detailed technical assessments and engineering design reviews for power delivery projects.
- Driving will be required as part of position duties.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of direct experience in the development, design, engineering, and construction of High Voltage Transmission line projects. Experience leading engineering teams and providing oversight for major energy infrastructure projects is necessary.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of transmission design and technical competence in understanding one-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, and plan and profiles. Must have strong negotiation, stakeholder management, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as PLSCADD, AutoCAD, and Primavera.
Work Environment
This is a remote position that requires travel within North America. The role involves coordination with multiple internal groups and external consultants to ensure project success.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $55.00 to $60.61 per hour. Please note that this pay range is a good faith estimate that may be subject to change. A comprehensive benefits package is available for eligible employees.
