Platform Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Platform Engineer. This is a primarily remote contract position but you must reside in Miami, FL to be available for client onsite work 25% of the time.

Essential Functions:
* Lead continuous improvement of the SDLC automation toolchain, partnering with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to identify opportunities for efficiency and modernization
* Design and implement automated deployments of configurations and applications on Linux based environments using Ansible, Puppet or Chef. Strong understanding of application automation and Linux application installation
* Architect, build, and maintain automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines enabling reliable and repeatable software delivery
* Oversee and optimize AWS cloud deployments-particularly Amazon EKS or Kubernetes-to ensure scalability, security, and operational excellence
* Drive automation of application deployments to reduce manual work, increase delivery speed, and improve operational reliability

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
* 5-8 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related technical roles
* Strong knowledge with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
* Proven expertise in platform engineering principles, automation tooling, and modern DevOps practices
* Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts
* Hands on experience with AWS, specifically Amazon EKS or Kubernetes

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
