Location: Ruther Glen, Virginia (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are looking to hire an onsite Quality Engineer based out of the Caroline County, VA area. This position will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of project-specific quality plans. The role involves ensuring alignment with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and organizational quality standards. It is supporting projects involved with data centers and critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific quality plans aligned with customer requirements and organizational standards.
- Create and maintain Quality Control Tracking Logs (QCTL) to monitor inspections, schedules, and deliverables.
- Create Quality Control Plans, known as "QCP".
- Manage the three phases of Quality: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up.
- Develop and maintain quality inspection checklists and other project-specific documentation.
- Verify submittal approvals and monitor compliance with project requirements.
- Facilitate and participate in design reviews to ensure quality requirements are incorporated.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and subcontractors regarding quality issues, reporting, and audits.
- Coordinate inspections and audits with third-party inspectors.
- Lead quality assurance, compliance, audit, and process improvement activities.
- Conduct audits to assess adherence to documented policies and procedures.
- Collect, analyze, and report on quality and performance data.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. Engineering fields such as Industrial, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical are also acceptable.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, construction quality, manufacturing quality, or process improvement. Experience in Construction Job Sites is preferred.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of the USACE/NAVFAC Three-Phase Quality Control System. Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO standards, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Agile project environments, PMBOK frameworks, ITIL processes, or CMMI environments.
- Experience with data collection, quality scorecards, CAPA programs, and process improvement projects.
- Experience supporting construction, manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects.
- USACE-NAVFAC CQM for contractors certification.
