Job Title: Database Engineer with Investment Banking
Location: NYC NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Long Term Contract

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer with strong expertise in T-SQL, Python, and SQL Server to support critical applications within the Investment Banking division. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in capital markets or investment banking environments, handling high-volume transactional systems and complex financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
Develop automation scripts and data processing solutions using Python.
Support front-office, middle-office, or back-office investment banking applications.
Perform database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
Manage ETL processes and data integration across multiple systems.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with financial regulations.
Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
Participate in release deployments and environment management.

Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience as a Database Engineer/Developer.
Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server (2016/2019 or higher).
Advanced proficiency in T-SQL (query optimization, performance tuning).
Experience with Python for automation, data manipulation, and scripting.
Solid understanding of database design, normalization, and indexing strategies.
Experience working in Investment Banking / Capital Markets domain.
Knowledge of financial instruments (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives) is a plus.
Experience with large-scale, high-availability production environments.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SSIS or other ETL tools.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
Exposure to regulatory and compliance reporting systems.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
