As MISO's Director of Architecture Services and Systems Engineering, you will:
  • Lead and champion the business value of Architecture and Systems Engineering by establishing governance frameworks, standards, and adoption strategies that directly support enterprise outcomes.
  • Partner with business leaders to shape capability models and multi-year technology roadmaps, helping drive informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Guide the design of current and future-state architectures (business, data, application, technology, and security), clearly articulating options, trade-offs, and strategic direction.
  • Expand the adoption of systems thinking and modern systems engineering practices (including MBSE) through coaching, tools, and enablement programs that elevate engineering maturity.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to advance modern delivery practices-such as agile, platform engineering, and legacy modernization improving reliability and alignment with business needs.
  • Ensure solutions are built for resilience by embedding cybersecurity, compliance, and reliability requirements into architecture, aligning with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Build and lead a high-performing organization by setting vision and goals, developing talent, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the Director of Architecture Services and Systems Engineering:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • At least ten (10) years relevant work experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills inspiring cross-functional teams, driving strategic alignment, and leading initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, train, mentor, and manage employee performance
  • INCOSE SEP; TOGAF; ITIL; relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure) (preferred)

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $196,000 - $221,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
