Job Description – Lead Kubernetes / Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Kubernetes / Cloud Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure and Kubernetes platforms. The role involves leading containerization, orchestration, automation, and cloud engineering initiatives while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Kubernetes, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Lead cloud infrastructure and container orchestration initiatives.
• Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native platforms.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to support application deployments.
• Ensure platform reliability, disaster recovery, backup, and high availability strategies.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability solutions.
• Manage networking, ingress, service mesh, and security policies within Kubernetes environments.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code and platform automation initiatives.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker/Containers
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Expertise in:
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Linux system administration
  • Helm, ArgoCD, or similar deployment tools
• Experience with:
  • Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Logging platforms (ELK, Splunk)
  • Networking and security concepts
  • Service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd) preferred
• Knowledge of scripting/programming:
  • Python
  • Bash
  • Go (preferred)

Cloud & DevOps

• Cloud-native architecture
• DevSecOps practices
• Kubernetes security and governance
• Automation and scalability optimization

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Certifications preferred:
  • CKA / CKAD
  • AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform Cloud Certifications
• Experience with enterprise-scale cloud environments
