Department Details:KP Program Office's National Medicare & Medicaid Finance (NMF) department exists to support national and regional line of business leaders in budgeting, forecasting, and analytics. The Data Reporting and Analytics team supports that work through the use of financial and utilization data leveraging tools like Databricks, Power BI, Excel, etc.
Internship Projects:This internship will be with the KP Program Office's National Medicare & Medicaid Finance (NMF) department. The projects involve data engineering on the Databricks platform in support of the Medicare Bids and NCAP conversion. The intern will be responsible for process improvement, refactoring, and technical optimization of existing Databricks notebooks and workflows. Activities will include: solution design, coding, testing, technical documentation, business-facing presentations, and training analysts to execute and maintain the processes.

Target Skillset:Specific skills relevant to this role include SQL, Python, Databricks, Version Control (such as GitHub).

Basic Qualifications: Experience
Education
- Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
Additional Requirements:- Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications: - 3.0 GPA or above.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
