Role Overview
One of our clients in the consumer products industry is seeking an experienced Process Engineer with strong FMCG expertise. The selected professional will support process engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design and FEED through detailed engineering, commissioning, and final handover to operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hygienic process design, hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, process simulation, and engineering standards applicable to food, beauty, and consumer product manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, supervise, and manage process engineering activities throughout all project phases, including concept, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop project design basis documents and prepare deliverables such as process flow diagrams, heat and mass balance diagrams, P&IDs, valve lists, line lists, and equipment data sheets.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, operations, and process safety teams to support timely design completion.
  • Select hygienic process equipment, including sanitary pumps, diaphragm valves, mix-proof valves, butterfly valves, heat exchangers, mixing vessels, and storage vessels.
  • Design hygienic systems with proper drainability, dead-leg-free piping, smooth surface finishes, effective spray-ball coverage, and minimal contamination risks.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, pump selection and sizing, line sizing, valve sizing, and piping material selection.
  • Support installation qualification and operational qualification activities for tanks, pumps, compressors, chillers, reactors, pressure relief valves, cyclones, degassers, mixers, and heat exchangers.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews to verify compliance with process and system design requirements.
  • Coordinate with research and development teams to obtain simulation data, process inputs, and technical requirements.
  • Evaluate technical bids, review vendor drawings, and participate in factory acceptance testing.
  • Review construction quality for process equipment and piping against approved engineering designs.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of departmental procedures, workflows, and engineering standards.
  • Travel within the United States or Europe when required by project needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant process engineering experience in FMCG, consumer products, food, beauty, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hygienic and clean process design.
  • Experience with non-Newtonian fluid calculations, hydraulic calculations, and line sizing.
  • Experience designing mixing tanks, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and CIP/SIP systems.
  • Familiarity with process simulation and hydraulic modeling tools such as UniSim and AFT Fathom.
  • Knowledge of ASME BPE, 3-A Sanitary Standards, EHEDG, ASME B31.3, and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections I and VIII.
  • Experience participating in process safety studies, including HAZOP and SIL assessments.
  • Strong analytical, technical communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-driven and professional manner.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and multinational teams.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred Software Skills
Experience with the following tools is beneficial but not mandatory:
  • Aspen HYSYS or similar chemical process simulation software
  • AFT Fathom for hydraulic system modeling
  • AVEVA P&ID for process and instrumentation diagrams
  • Emerson PRV2size for pressure relief valve and vent sizing
