Job Description:

The Army Watercraft Systems Senior Analyst / Engineer provides technical repair, life-cycle sustainment, modernization, and technical management support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) shipboard electronic and electrical systems aboard U.S. Army vessels, ensuring mission readiness, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle sustainment of communications and navigation systems. This role is a subject matter expert on shipboard systems including Integrated Bridge Systems, Radar, Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS), and Global Maritime Distress Systems (GMDSS). As the Senior Analyst / Engineer, you will be a key member of the GDIT team supporting worldwide field sustainment operations for the U.S. Army Watercraft Program, reporting to the Watercraft C5ISR Sustainment Lead Engineer.

How the Army Watercraft Systems Senior Analyst / Engineer will make an impact:

• Serve as a Senior Systems Analyst / Engineer providing worldwide field sustainment support for the U.S. Army Watercraft Program, including repair, modernization, and technical management of Army Watercraft Systems operating worldwide.

• Perform technical repair and Life Cycle Support (LCS) for C5ISR marine systems in compliance with U.S. Military, U.S. Government agency, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and regulations.

• Test, maintain, and repair C5ISR systems as directed by senior personnel or as specified in formal training.

• Apply experience with multimeters, amp meters, RF power meters, oscilloscopes, power generators, spectrum analyzers, and communication system analyzers.

• Contribute to design discussions and lead and train less-experienced teammates within the team or technical area.

• Analyze technical drawings, manuals, electronic schematics, and design documentation to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic components and mechanical systems.

• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems used for Radar and Electronic Chart Display Information Systems (ECDIS) and associated hardware/software components.

• Install firmware, application software, software patches, and required firmware updates.

• Develop and submit incident reports to senior personnel for C5ISR sustainment repair, system modernization tasks, preventive maintenance, and government special project activities.

• Service shipboard power distribution and signal processing hardware.

• Assist senior personnel with acoustic transducer replacement and interfacing for depth and speed monitoring systems.

• Perform system installations, cable routing, shielding, and grounding protocols per senior guidance and vessel configuration drawings.

• Conduct retrofit and modernization projects supporting vessel mission upgrades in accordance with regulatory compliance.

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS), Navigation Systems, Communication Systems, and Global Maritime Distress Safety Systems (GMDSS).

• Conduct maintenance operations at the CECOM C5I Maintenance Support Facility Annex and Integrated Lab and Training Facility.

• Support up to 50% worldwide travel in support of operational missions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience)

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in U.S. Army Watercraft Systems marine electronic sustainment repair; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of combined military and marine electronic systems repair experience on C5ISR electronic systems

• Technical skills: Experience supporting U.S. Army Watercraft Systems (AWS) modernization, maintenance, and repair projects for the vessel's Integrated Bridge System (IBS), Navigation Systems, Tactical and Commercial Communication Systems, IFF Transponder System, and Global Maritime Distress Safety Systems (GMDSS) per Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations; working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power converters, power regulators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and shipboard cabling standards; strong troubleshooting, systems integration, maintenance management, and configuration control experience; ability to interpret and ensure compliance with technical configuration drawings, government agency regulations, and manufacturer/military technical documentation

• Security clearance level: Secret
• Role requirements: Valid passport required at time of hire; ability to support up to 50% worldwide travel.

• Anschtz Training in NSC Radar and ECDIS Systems

• FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License with Ship Radar Endorsement

• Tactical Radio and Satellite Communications Training

• Global Maritime Distress Safety Systems (GMDSS) Training

• Electrical Wiring Installation and Repair Training

• 2D drawing experience

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, ServiceNow, and WASP Inventory Cloud

• 100% on-site position supporting shipboard and facility operations; up to 50% worldwide travel required to efforts.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
