Job Title: DB2 Database Administrator

Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DB2 DBA) to support, maintain, and optimize enterprise DB2 database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2 administration on Linux/Unix platforms, performance tuning, and database security.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database environments
Manage DB2 databases including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Monitor database performance and perform tuning for optimal efficiency
Troubleshoot database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks
Implement and maintain database security, roles, and access controls
Support high availability (HA) and replication technologies (HADR)
Perform database patching, migrations, and upgrades
Work closely with development and infrastructure teams for database support
Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting or other tools
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with standards.

Required Skills:

5+ years of experience as a DB2 DBA
Strong experience with IBM DB2 LUW (Linux/Unix/Windows)
Hands-on experience with HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery)
Expertise in backup & recovery strategies
Experience in performance tuning and query optimization
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
Experience with SQL scripting and stored procedures
Familiarity with database security and compliance
