Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an experienced
Computer Network Architect (Data Center) for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard IT Support Services contract. NNSY's mission is to safely return warships to the Fleet on time and within budget. The NNSY CIO (Code 109) provides comprehensive IT and telecom support that maintains Fleet readiness in logistics, maintenance, engineering, supply, legal, readiness reporting, emergency response, and more. The CIO installs, manages, and secures all shipyard networks and systems; approves IT purchases; and runs a Navy/DoD-compliant Information Assurance program. It supports approximatley 10,000 NMCI seats and leads cyberspace efficiency initiatives while managing SYLAN, SECNET, Mobile Workforce Enablement, NFPCICN, standalone systems, servers, wireless networks, circuits, applications, and devices.
This position is fully on-site.
Duties & Responsibilities The Computer Network Architect (Data Center) experience may include the following:
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor enterprise network systems, hardware, and software applications, including switches, routers, firewalls, data center technologies, routing protocols, and network appliances.
- Implement and maintain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure compliance across network components.
- Evaluate, respond to, and remediate network incidents, performing corrective actions and supporting approved change and configuration management processes.
- Implement, manage, and optimize data center technologies encompassing network, compute, storage, automation, and security components.
- Collaborate with Windows, Unix, and other server administrators to design system architectures, address technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes within data center environments.
- Apply working knowledge of Cisco data center solutions, including Nexus, UCS, ACI, and Fibre Channel technologies, to support enterprise infrastructure.
- Review and analyze Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to identify, investigate, and resolve network events.
- Implement and enforce enterprise network security protocols and policies, conducting root cause analysis and providing corrective action recommendations.
- Design, plan, and implement local and wide-area enterprise networks using advanced routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF and modern switching technologies.
- Support and implement Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions, including SD-Access and SD-WAN, to enhance network performance and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with Department of Defense stakeholders to support project objectives, contributing to task execution, issue resolution, and operational continuity.
- Assist in the execution of project and task plans, assessing risks, resolving events, and supporting mission-critical outcomes.
- Utilize enterprise network hardware and software tools, including:
- Hardware: Cisco Nexus 7000/9000 series switches, Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco 4551 and 8500 routers
- Software: SolarWinds, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), and Splunk
Qualifications - Active Top Secret clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering) with a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cisco networks; including design, configuring, installing enterprise network devices and working in a data center environment.
