Summary

The Leidos Office of Technology (OOT) - Technology Integration, External Technology Partnerships team - is seeking an External Technology Partnerships Engineering Intern to support hands-on evaluation, prototyping, and integration of emerging external technologies.

This internship provides the opportunity to work directly with the External Technology Partnerships Engineer on real technical initiatives involving commercial software and AI solutions. The intern will contribute to technical experiments, prototype development, and integration efforts that help assess and transition innovative capabilities into Leidos solutions.

This role is ideal for a technically curious student who enjoys building, testing, and learning through direct engagement with new technologies.

Primary Responsibilities.
  • Support hands-on evaluation of external partner technologies, primarily software and AI-based solutions.
  • Assist in developing prototypes and proof-of-concept integrations.
  • Contribute code, testing, and documentation under the guidance of the External Technology Partnerships Engineer.
  • Analyze technical performance, integration considerations, and system behavior.
  • Participate in technical discussions and design reviews.
  • Document findings, code changes, and lessons learned to support transition and knowledge sharing.

Basic Qualifications.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical discipline.

  • Coursework or practical experience in programming (Python preferred).
  • Familiarity with basic software development practices and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly.

Preferred Qualifications.
  • Exposure to AI/ML frameworks or AI-enabled applications.
  • Experience working with APIs, cloud environments, or system integration concepts.
  • Demonstrated initiative in learning new technologies independently.

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
