Job Title: Configuration Developer (XML with FireLight Experience)

 

Location: Salt Lake City, UT or Toronto, Canada (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months (Extendable)

Job Summary

 

We are seeking a Configuration Developer with experience in FireLight and XML to implement and maintain business rules within the FireLight proprietary SaaS electronic fulfillment platform. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring business logic, supporting deployments, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring financial product applications meet compliance and "In-Good-Order" standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain business rules within the FireLight platform.
  • Develop and maintain XML-based configurations and business logic.
  • Configure Role Codes, Review Queues, Needs Determination, Mapping Documents, and Admin Mappings.
  • Ensure financial applications meet compliance and "In-Good-Order" (IGO) requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including:
    • Requirements analysis
    • Configuration
    • Testing
    • Deployment
  • Perform unit and integration testing.
  • Support customer implementations and production deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues through Jira tickets.
  • Provide Tier-2 production support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects and improve platform performance.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve rule creation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Follow configuration best practices focusing on modularity, simplicity, and reusability.
  • Meet productivity, quality, and delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications

 

  • 1–3 years of experience in a configuration or technical development role.
  • Strong experience wi
    • FireLight platform configuration.
    • Strong proficiency in XML development and troubleshooting.
    • Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
    • Experience with:
      • Jira
      • Notepad++
      • Adobe Acrobat
      • OpenAir (preferred)
    • Experience configuring:
      • Business Rules
      • Role Codes
      • Review Queues
      • Needs Determination
      • Admin Mappings
    • Knowledge of financial services, including:
      • Life Insurance
      • Annuities
      • Insurance Compliance
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience integrating FireLight with:
    • Salesforce
    • Redtail
    • Yellow Pages
  • Exposure to SaaS-based platforms.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
