Summary

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. M365 Engineer- Ai Enablement - Hybrid position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in New York, NY. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to lead the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of enterprise Microsoft 365 solutions. This role is responsible for driving technical strategy and operational excellence across the Microsoft 365 platform, with a focus on Power Platform, Agent 365, Copilot technologies, PowerShell automation, AI enablement, and enterprise governance.

This position is ideally suited for a hands-on engineering leader with strong expertise in Microsoft 365 architecture, automation, AI integration within the Microsoft ecosystem, security and compliance, and modern collaboration technologies. Preference will be given to candidates who are comfortable working in a hybrid onsite environment.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across Microsoft 365 workloads, strong scripting and automation capabilities, and the ability to architect scalable, secure, and business-aligned solutions. This individual will also serve as a senior technical resource, partnering with infrastructure, security, compliance, and business teams to modernize collaboration, streamline operations, and enable intelligent digital workplace solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 Architecture & Engineering:
  • Lead the design, administration, and optimization of Microsoft 365 services, including:
    • Exchange Online
    • SharePoint Online
    • Microsoft Teams
    • OneDrive for Business
    • Entra ID
    • Microsoft Purview
  • Develop and maintain enterprise standards for Microsoft 365 architecture, service configuration, governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate platform capabilities and recommend enhancements to improve collaboration, security, automation, and user experience.
  • Lead complex implementations, migrations, tenant configuration changes, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for escalated Microsoft 365 issues.
Power Platform Solution Leadership:
  • Architect and deliver business solutions using:
    • Power Apps
    • Power Automate
    • Power BI
    • Dataverse
  • Design scalable automations and low-code solutions that improve operational efficiency and support digital transformation initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain Power Platform governance, including environment strategy, DLP policies, connector usage, solution packaging, and application lifecycle management.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation, reporting, and workflow optimization.
  • Mentor junior team members and solution developers on Power Platform best practices.
PowerShell Automation & Operational Efficiency:
  • Design and maintain advanced PowerShell automation for Microsoft 365 administration, monitoring, compliance, and reporting.
  • Automate routine and complex tasks such as:
    • Provisioning and deprovisioning
    • License and group management
    • Mailbox and Teams administration
    • SharePoint and OneDrive management
    • Audit and compliance reporting
  • Develop reusable script frameworks and operational tooling to improve support consistency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support enterprise migrations, bulk updates, governance enforcement, and platform remediation activities through scripting.
Copilot Studio, Agent 365 & AI Solution Enablement:
  • Lead the design, deployment, administration, and governance of Copilot Studio, Agent 365, and AI-powered Microsoft solutions, including custom copilots, conversational workflows, actions, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify practical AI use cases that enhance productivity, self-service, and knowledge access.
  • Integrate Copilot Studio, AI Foundry capabilities, and Microsoft 365 AI services with Power Platform and business systems to deliver intelligent user experiences.
  • Support AI integration initiatives across the Microsoft environment, including Microsoft 365 add-ins, automation tooling, reporting solutions, and productivity enhancements.
  • Establish guardrails and operational standards for AI-powered solutions, including security, compliance, access control, and support processes.
Governance, Security, Compliance & Data Protection:
  • Partner with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure Microsoft 365 solutions align with organizational policies, financial services security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support governance across identity, collaboration, data handling, retention, auditing, access management, and AI-enabled services.
  • Implement and support DLP policies and compliance controls related to AI models, Microsoft Copilot technologies, GDPR, and global regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to architecture reviews, change management processes, and risk assessments for new or modified solutions.
  • Help define standards for secure automation and low-code development.
Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Serve as a senior escalation point and subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 engineering and automation initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including infrastructure, cybersecurity, compliance, application teams, and business leaders.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, supportable technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, standards, architecture diagrams, and support procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-10+ years of experience engineering and supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Deep hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft 365 administration and engineering
    • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse)
    • PowerShell scripting and automation
    • Microsoft 365 integrations and automation
    • Copilot Studio, Agent 365, and AI integration technologies
    • Microsoft Purview and governance capabilities
    • Microsoft 365 add-ins and automation tooling
    • Python scripting for automation and operational efficiency
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Entra ID and identity/access management
    • Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive administration
    • Microsoft 365 governance, security, compliance, and DLP capabilities
  • Experience architecting enterprise solutions and supporting large-scale cloud environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay rate range: $95.00 - $110.00 hourly.
