PACS Data Migration Specialist (Remote)

We are seeking a PACS Data Migration Specialist to support a large-scale migration from 36 legacy PACS environments to Visage, as part of an Epic rollout. This role involves data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), ensuring accurate medical record number conversions, metadata integrity, and image verification. The specialist will work closely with engineering teams, imaging informatics specialists, and database administrators to ensure a seamless transition with minimal disruption to clinical workflows.

  • Job Type: Contract
  • Location: Remote working eastern time hours
  • Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $60 - $75 per hour plus benefits
  • No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You ll Do:


  • Lead data migration efforts from legacy PACS systems to Visage, ensuring accurate and efficient transfers.
  • Perform data cleansing, medical record number conversions, and metadata validation to maintain imaging integrity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and database administrators to manage the database layer during migration.
  • Support DICOM, HL7, and other interoperability standards to integrate PACS with third-party applications and Epic.
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks to verify image accuracy, completeness, and proper tagging.
  • Identify and troubleshoot migration-related issues, including data inconsistencies, access errors, and performance concerns.
  • Work with radiologists, IT teams, and process improvement specialists to align new workflows with clinical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security, and data governance regulations throughout the migration process.

What Gets You the Job:


  • 3+ years of experience in PACS migration, imaging informatics, or healthcare IT.
  • Must have experience with database migration, ETL, and SQL databases.
  • Expertise in DICOM, HL7, and PACS administration.
  • Familiarity with Epic, Visage, and third-party imaging applications.
  • Hands-on experience with medical record number conversions and metadata reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of data security, HIPAA compliance, and system integrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with large-scale PACS consolidations or cloud-based migrations is a plus.
  • Previous experience with HPE NonStop systems or RackF environments is a plus.
  • Certifications in healthcare IT, PACS administration, or data migration technologies is a plus.
