Opportunity Snapshot:
We are seeking a highly skilled Virtualization Engineer for a short-term project in Lansing, MI. This role is ideal for a hands-on virtualization professional with deep expertise in Microsoft Hyper-V and proven experience migrating environments from VMware to Hyper-V. The consultant will play a key role in assessing the current infrastructure, executing the migration, and ensuring a smooth and stable transition.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Lead the migration of virtual machines from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V
• Analyze the existing virtual environment and plan the conversion approach
• Configure and optimize Hyper-V infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues
• Perform validation and testing to ensure post-migration performance and stability
• Document migration steps, findings, and recommendations

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Hyper-V
• Proven experience with VMware to Hyper-V conversion/migration projects
• Solid understanding of virtualization, Windows Server, storage, and networking
• Ability to work independently and deliver results within a short project timeline
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Background:

• Prior experience handling short-term infrastructure or migration projects
• Experience with virtual machine performance tuning and post-migration validation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with client teams
