Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated, detail-driven Civil 3D specialist to join our team in Wilmington, NC. Responsibilities
- Prepare and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
- Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays and isometric drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces.
- Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas.
- Conform to the company's standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
- Create and setup plan sets.
- Prepare conceptual layouts with parameters provided.
- Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
- Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets.
- Preparation of fit lists.
- Prepare project exhibits.
- Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased.
- Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
- May be required to calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
- May be required to perform design computations, earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans.
- Prepare CAD files for authorized media release to external parties / agencies
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- 2-4+ years of related experience.
- Experience in site/civil, land development, and/or municipal engineering drafting preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
