Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Consultant with strong expertise in IBM z/OS environments to support enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in mainframe development, maintenance, and support, along with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support high-quality production code using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS
• Review, debug, and optimize code written by team members to ensure performance and stability
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and reduce recurring issues
• Participate in JIRA story estimation, sprint planning, and task documentation
• Perform hands-on coding, code reviews, and ensure adherence to architecture standards, security policies, and risk management practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and stable solutions
• Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in IBM z/OS Mainframe development in a large enterprise environment
• Strong expertise in:
• COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM
• DB2, IMS DB, DB2 SQL, Stored Procedures
• Experience with:
• IBM WebSphere MQ / Messaging systems
• Mainframe utilities and tools: CA-7, File-Aid, Intertest, Xpediter, File Manager, Changeman, SORT
• TSO/ISPF, SDSF
• FTP, NDM, File Transfer tools
• CICS Mainview, REXX, CLIST
• Experience in both batch and real-time processing systems

Nice to Have

• Exposure to distributed technologies such as:
• Java, Kafka, REST Web Services, XML
• Experience working in Agile environments
