Summary

DPP is seeking an IT Project Manager/Lead for an opportunity in Blythewood, SC.
 
Location: Hybrid in Blythewood, SC.
Duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension
Hybrid schedule: Approximately 80% onsite and 20% remote; onsite days based on project needs
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
 
Position overview:
  • We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a growing portfolio of enterprise‑level information technology initiatives. Due to increasing project demand, this role will provide dedicated leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • The IT Project Manager will lead strategic and tactical IT projects, collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, and support the continued maturation of IT project management standards and methodologies.
  • Candidates must be South Carolina residents, or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting role. 
Key responsibilities:
  • Serves as the IT project manager for assigned projects. For non-IT driven projects, role will serve as project manager for IT assigned deliverables.
  • Manages assigned IT projects and coordinates with all stakeholders from inception to completion to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Works with project team to identify and document project scope/charter, budget (where applicable), resources, project schedules including milestones and risks, and project deliverables.
  • Establishes meeting cadence for each project to ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule.
  • Maintains project team accountability through tracking budget, milestones, risk mitigation actions, issues, and task assignments. Escalates issues timely to applicable stakeholder(s).
  • Collaborates with others to establish project meeting agendas and produces project team meeting notes including providing project status updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Closes out each project in a timely and orderly manner, with documentation of lessons learned and finalizing of essential project documentation.
  • Maintains accurate master IT project list.
  • Produces required IT project related presentation and supplemental materials for meetings including steering committee and strategic planning meetings.
  • Works with IT Management and Project Management Office to develop, document, and codify the project planning, implementation, and management methodology for adoption by the Client. Develop presentations and supporting materials for leadership, steering committees, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Collaborates with IT leadership and project management teams to develop, document, and codify standardized IT project management methodologies and processes. 
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience managing enterprise‑level IT projects.
  • 3+ years of experience with project budgeting. 
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Experience managing system modernization or large‑scale technology initiatives.
  • Experience working with public‑sector or highly regulated organizations.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors and third‑party partners.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Active PMP Certification is highly preferred. 
Additional skills and competencies:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology concepts, terminology, and standards.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals.
  • Ability to lead and influence.
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate complex projects.
  • Considerable diplomacy and tact exhibited in stressful situations.
  • Must develop and maintain knowledge of agency mission, goals and objectives.
