Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Python Developer for a hybrid position (minimum 3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking a hands-on application developer with strong Python engineering skills and practical OpenShift experience to partner closely with AI/ML engineers and UI developers. The role is focused on designing, developing, and deploying production-grade applications on OpenShift, building Python APIs/services that integrate AI capabilities, delivering Angular-based user experiences, and operating with a DevOps mindset. A key expectation is being highly effective at vulnerability remediation across the stack, including application dependencies, container images, and OpenShift deployment configurations.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deploy production-grade applications on OpenShift
- Build backend services in Python (APIs, microservices, async patterns)
- Translate AI/ML needs into production-grade services and UI capabilities
- Triage and remediate vulnerabilities in application dependencies and container images
- Automate container build workflows and deployments aligned to CI/CD concepts
- Work side-by-side with AI engineers and UI developers
Requirements: - 8+ years of hands-on experience as a python developer
- Strong professional experience building backend services in Python (APIs, microservices, async patterns, testing, packaging)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, design patterns, code reviews, unit/integration testing, and CI hygiene
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on OpenShift (creating/updating manifests, troubleshooting pods, working with Routes/Services/ConfigMaps/Secrets)
- Experience with container build workflows and deployment automation aligned to OpenShift CI/CD concepts
- Demonstrated ability to triage and remediate vulnerabilities in application dependencies and container images
- Understanding of secure software delivery practices: SAST/OSS scanning awareness, dependency management, and risk-based remediation prioritization
- Practical familiarity with OpenShift/container security concepts
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions, remediation plans, and deployment status
Desired skills: - Experience working in an Agile development methodology
- Exposure to AI/ML-integrated applications and collaboration with AI engineers
- Familiarity with RAG and LLM
Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
