JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Define the system architecture for optical DSP chips used in high-speed optical communication networks (800G/1.6T and beyond).
Improve the algorithms for equalization, error correction, clock and data recovery, and other signal processing functions.
Work closely with hardware, firmware, and Chip architect to optimize DSP implementation for performance, power, and area.
Conduct system-level modelling and simulations to validate DSP algorithms and architectures.
Collaborate with photonics and RF teams to ensure seamless integration of DSP with optical front-end components.
Define key performance metrics and validation methodologies for DSP architectures.
Work with customers and industry partners to align DSP architectures with market needs and emerging technologies.
Continuously monitor and adopt advancements in optical communications, DSP methodologies, and semiconductor technologies
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Master s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in DSP algorithm development, system architecture, and ASIC design for optical communication systems
Technical Expertise:
Strong background in digital signal processing, communication theory, and error correction codes.
Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for algorithm development and simulations.
Knowledge of ASIC design
Familiarity with optical communication standards such as OIF and others
Experience with high-speed SerDes, ADC/DAC interfaces, and mixed-signal design considerations.
Understanding of optical modulation techniques and coherent optical transmission.
Preferred Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Knowledge of photonic integrated circuits and co-design with DSP.
Experience with real-time embedded DSP implementations.
Proven track record of delivering high-performance DSP architectures in commercial optical products.
MUST HAVE
Must have current recent experience as a Chief Architect.
