Scala Developer @ Richmond/Mclean, VA

Introduction:

We are seeking a skilled Scala Developer to join our team in Richmond/Mclean, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend engineering, with a focus on Scala and/or Golang. This role will involve building distributed backend systems and working with various AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, Lambda, and DynamoDB.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend systems using Scala and/or Golang
• Build distributed systems that are scalable and reliable
• Work with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, Lambda, and DynamoDB
• Collaborate with other team members to design and implement new features
• Optimize and improve existing codebase for performance and efficiency

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong hands-on programming in Scala (mandatory for most roles) or Golang (strongly preferred)
• Experience building distributed backend systems
• Strong AWS experience, particularly with serverless and managed services
• Experience with ECS/Fargate, Lambda, and DynamoDB
