Job Description

This position is for a Chief Engineering Sr. Manager for the JASSM program in the Strike Systems program area. The successful candidate will report to the JASSM Program Chief Engineer programmatically and be expected to work closely with the other members of the JASSM and Strike Systems Chief Engineering staff to ensure synergy across tasks, communicate lessons learned, and ensure cross program collaboration.
What You Will Be Doing
As the JASSM Platform Integration and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Providing technical leadership that enables the team to meet and demonstrate all milestones on schedule
Providing Technical leadership/oversight on F-35 A/B/C Integration across JASSM and LRASM. Additionally, JASSM FMS development to include existing customers, as well as new missile variant development and capture efforts.
Developing a productive partnership and trusting relationship with the USG customer
Shaping the FMS strategy and developing second source suppliers
Guiding Engineering team, IPT leads and cross-functional teams in program planning, scheduling, trade studies, design concepts, verification, and critical life cycle reviews
Ensuring program staffing is appropriate from an E&T perspective
Collaborating with Engineering Excellence management to ensure program milestones are successfully completed
Supporting and leading technical reviews and participating in monthly E&T meetings, staff meetings, and other critical program activities
Communicating lessons learned and ensuring synergy across tasks with the entire Chief Engineer staff
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership throughout proposal phase, through development phase, and providing support for FMS transition to production.
Provide technical leadership for design and development efforts, from system architecture through design and qualification
Develop and execute detailed program plans, schedules, and trade study analyses
Lead or support customer briefings, weekly IPT status updates, Technical Interchange Meetings, Technical Readiness Reviews, and other critical program reviews
Participate or lead Failure Review Boards, technical Risk Management, and Mission Success Reviews
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must:
Have demonstrated experience leading a technical team through major proposal effort.
Have demonstrated platform integration experience and leading flight test activities.
Have demonstrated experience in planning and leading technical solutions from proposal through all aspects of development including SRR, PDR, CDR, Qualification, System Verification & Test, FCA and transition to production
Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to lead technical efforts with cross-functional teams
Possess experience and initiative to ensure technical leadership and support for the development process
Show a strong understanding of Full Spectrum Leadership principles (technical, people, business, strategic).
Have excellent oral and written communication skills

Basic Qualifications

Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, with existing professional experience
Experience and demonstrated skillset with Missile systems design and development
Must possess ability to plan and lead the technical teams/efforts associated with complex Missile Systems
Ability to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the USG customer
Must be available for occasional domestic travel
Active Top Secret clearance

Desired skills

An advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is desired
Prior experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is highly desired
Candidate should have wide experience/familiarity in collaborating with the Engineering & Technology functional organization
Ability to interface with the USG Customer office and global supply base
Ability to support technical reviews internally, with the customer, and external stakeholders, and at supplier locations
Experience in leading Failure Analysis and Failure Review Boards

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
