Job Title: Principal AI Platform Engineer (W2 Contract)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Local candidates preferred; strong non-local candidates will also be considered)

Duration: 12+ months Contract

Pay Rate: DOE

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal AI Platform Engineer to design and build AI platform capabilities supporting LLM-based agent systems and distributed services. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, distributed systems, API design, and cloud infrastructure, along with experience building scalable AI platforms.

Technical Leadership Responsibilities

Architect end-to-end AI platform systems across agents, MCP, and external services
Debug and resolve issues across distributed microservices
Conduct strong code reviews ensuring DRY, SOLID principles, observability, and error handling
Evaluate technical trade-offs (batch vs sequential processing, caching strategies, retries)
Collaborate with platform teams, Supplier Hub, and SDE teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building AI/LLM platforms or agent-based architectures
Strong experience with distributed systems and scalable APIs
Experience working in cloud-native environments
