Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Structural/Civil Field Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering, construction management, and industrial facility projects. The ideal candidate will support building system design, startup, commissioning, field inspections, contractor coordination, and construction administration activities. Candidates with a strong structural background are preferred, while well-rounded professionals with relevant construction and facility engineering experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support building system design, startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Review equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA requirements, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for steel detailing, inspection, delivery, installation, and project handover.
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Support outage planning, shutdown activities, and weekly coordination meetings.
  • Conduct field inspections and verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Prepare engineering status reports and provide technical recommendations for process improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of construction management experience.
  • 5+ years of structural design and installation experience.
  • Experience developing design criteria for building/construction systems.
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards including IBC, NFPA, ASME, AWS, and FM.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and schedule management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Teams.
